This, like many other movies in a similar genre - suffers from a cast that can't really give a convincing portrayal of madness.
The main characters do alright - but the general population - oh dear!!
Dancing with arms waving around - wearing white shifts - popping eyes and laughing madly at mayhem seem to be standard portrayals of crazy individuals.
It was most entertaining watching the supporting actors/extras making twits of themselves - but I don't think this is what the director intended !!
Oh well, another bathroom for Michael Caine at least !!

You sound like you were not convinced with how the crazies were portrayed in the movie. I can’t speak to their authenticity, but it was very entertaining nonetheless. What’s with the bathroom for Michael Caine?
