Just asking, there are a lot of action actresses, like Jolie (Tomb Rider), Biel (Blade), Beckinsale (Undeworld), Alba (Dark Angel), Garner (Daredevil), Jovovich (Resident Evil) etc.
They should make Expendables 3 with those as villains :) or at least a movie with them all together :)
I agree with you on all the action actresses except Jolie. I admit they did some good trick photography but Jolie is anorexic and sickly looking. She looks like she would snap in two if she fell of a curb. Also, was anyone else disturbed by the scene with the Chinese woman and her torture kit and they just laughed it off?

The part where the women were left alone to defend themselves and their children is a far more appealing storyline than the film. What if they could shoot straight? The bravest people I know have happened to be women.

shareOne problem with the cast you mentioned is most are now A list actresses. Odds are they wouldn't do a dumb action film, and if they did it would cost over $100m to make.
Now, if it was a low budget one with Jovovich, Zoe Bell, Michelle Rodriguez, and some other pretty obscure actresses, it might work.

If they want to get together and do a movie - more power to them. This series is a guy's action movie series plain and simple. Why isn't therea female boxing movie in the Rocky series ? Not every god damned movie has to be 100% diverse and fully balanced - just ask Tyler Perry.

Well, they are now planning the ExpendaBelles, but you're right, I would have liked to see them from the very beginning. Throw in Linda Hamilton or Sigourney Weaver to replace the Maggie Chan girl in this situation, per se.

Within this context, women are generally not effective combatants, so it would be stupid to portray them as such.
