So he couldn't move to London?

Because he didn't want to quit his job?
But she could becasue it is A-ok for her?

I don't get it. He could've gone there and spared us 2 hours of our lives on this piece of crap movie.

Because he didn't want to. Sure he loved Anna, but picking up your life and moving to a new country where uncertainty awaits for someone you don't even know is gonna work out is not romantic or smart. It's impulsive and immature and he knew this. It's one thing if you're engaged or married (the marriage in the movie didn't count, they only did it so she could get back into the States) but for just a girl or a boy who can't even fully commit to you while you're not around? Nah. Giving up the life you know and a stable job to move a new country is a huge decision to make. It's not something to be taken lightly. Have you ever stayed long term in a different country. It is hard. The people are different, the way of life is different, the way things are done are different and you just end up missing your life. I say this as someone living in Poland now with my husband. But we're married and I love him. Jacob wasn't sure about what would happen with Anna.

It just seemed like Jacob was the more reasonable and mature of the two. He didn't let his emotions override his decision making. It's not always about doing what you want to do but about doing what is right and what makes sense. When Anna gave up that awesome job that she loved and had been promoted in I just cringed. She will regret that forever if she can't get that job back. Especially because in the end when she was finally clear to return, it seemed like she just did it because she had been fighting so hard and so long for it that she should see it through. Even if she wasn't sure if she wanted it anymore, she wanted to want it. She wanted to have that same love for Jacob that she'd had.

It just didn't make sense for Jacob to move for her at that point in time, for a summer romance, basically. If Anna wanted to keep fighting to get back that's on her.

The journey was terrible...the trip was alright
