Dogs in future movies

It would be a shame if studies started using CGI instead of actual dogs in future movies, just to save them the hassle of lawsuits or boycotts, as well as the off-chance a PETA sympathizer would doctor cell phone recordings(if the alternate story is true). We've already seen a shift to CGI for more exotic animals(though I don't disagree with them using it for non-domesticated species).

Though preferably, I'd like to see humans in costumes crawling around and portraying dogs. Not just in comedies. Every movie, completely deadpan and serious, it's not acknowledged or presented as abnormal. I think that would save a lot of money and offer up new opportunities for struggling actors and extras.

That, or very realistic dog puppets with creative cinematography.

It makes sense to use CGI exotic animals when those animals need to be able to speak and act like humans. You just can't get a giant python to recite expositional dialog! And have you ever tried to train a giant mutant orangutan to sing on key? They're all tone deaf! It's impossible, I tell ya! ;D

reply

Exactly. Though I was more referring to recent movies such as The Revenant.

Is that the one where Leonardo of the TMNT romanced a mutant bear in Alaska? 😂

reply

Yeah. The bear loved him so much, she could just eat him up.

That's hot. XD
