Schadenfreude.

Let me start by saying that I don't condone the mistreatment of animals in the manufacturing of Hollywood entertainment product. I saw the video in question and there were certainly better ways to have handled the dog. The dog was obviously frightened, did not understand what was going on and that it would be safe, and did not want to go into what it apparently saw as a whirling vortex of death. The film crew could have a) found a dog that was willing to enter the water, b) turned off the water jets to make the pool more placid and inviting until the dog was actually in the water and accustomed to it, c) used cgi, or d) at the very least, have a human in the water coaxing the dog and demonstrating it was safe.

That said, the "outrage" over "animal cruelty" has been blown way out of proportion. There is really no reason to boycott the movie.

And that said, I am delighted over the boycott, which will no doubt cost Amblin millions in lost revenue. Why? It's a classic case of biting the hand that feeds you, and well deserved when it comes to the sanctimonious pricks who run Hollywood with their blacklists, attempts to personally destroy the livelihood and reputation of anyone who doesn't toe the leftist "social justice" line to perfection, and consistently and cynically use hyperbolic lies and distortions to appeal to raw emotion over reason. Well, I can play the game too:

Everyone involved in this film - from the director and actors on down to the lowliest key grip and caterer - is an heinous animal torturer. And they're probably all Trump supporters. They should be banned for life from ever working in the industry again, shunned by polite society, and mocked and derided at every opportunity. They and their families should be harassed and threatened by picketers at their homes. Then they should all be thrown into the eye of a hurricane to experience the terror of drowning just like the heroic Hercules the dog had to endure. Furthermore, all the box office proceeds of this film should be donated to PETA or, better yet, to groups that run animal shelters who haven't killed 34,000 of the animals in their charge.
