Most Irrelevant Movie Since Avatar

A lot of people seem to be trying to read into this movie's success as if it means something

Did the original TG break a single record? I think not. Tbh only morons can sit through the entirety of the original Top Gun

Anyway, my point is that this movie succeeded because of a great marketing campaign, it doesn't say anything else significant about the movie industry

You're dismissing the original Top Gun as quickly as one might Nightmare On Elm Street Part 2. And you'd be equally as wrong to do so.

As for this film, it was pretty decent. Sure maybe not as good as hyped but surely not at Avatar levels. Although to be fair I still haven't seen that.

As for its success being due to advertising and nothing further, I'm not sure. If this board's anything to go by, there's almost a Custer's last stand element to it. Whether the movie industry will buy into that remains to be seen.

I agree that TG1 and Nightmare2 are both about closet homosexuality
