That sex scene between Jack and Hannah, oh my god! How awful can sex be? There was no loving, no touching, no nothing......just condom on, straight in, and all over in 2 seconds. If this is how young people see sex, I pity them. And worse that Jack was waxing lyrical about Hannah's ass only 5 minutes earlier, yet didn't even look at it during the scene. Sad.

shareI just watched the movie Tiny Furniture and there is an equally short and not-great sex scene in that movie (probably worse). I've come to conclusion that sex scenes have to be made short in movies like these because you don't want to be watching two people *beep* for 15-20 mins, it's not porn after all.
Other movies pull it off by showing parts of the sex scene thereby creating the illusion of stretching out time. However in indie dramas like this the scene has to be done in one take in order to keep it immersive.
Actually, now that I think about it the movie "The Night Porter" (awesome movie!) also had a kindof awkward sex scene, however in the case of that movie it was not due to the shortness of the session. Instead the awkwardness was caused by what they could show on camera (it's a 1974 movie).

Jack's character in general was an unrealistic and badly written character.
He is a stereotypical nice guy from the perspective of a woman (Lynn Shelton wrote the character). This accounts for why he is so unbelievably terrible in bed.

I think that it would be unrealistic that he would jizz that early. Usually that happens when somebody is really excited and really happy just to get in. It seemed too akward for him to get turned on that quickly. I think the more likely scenario would be that it would get uncomfortable and akward and he couldn't finish.

The fact that he was drunk was a factor. Excessive drinking can go either one of two ways for men. He may cum quicker because of a lack of self-control, or it can make ejaculation more difficult because of the loss of sensation.
Personally, I thought the scene was good and more realistic. They barely knew each other and they were both drunk, there wasn't going to be much chemistry there and being intimate in the ways you speak of usually comes when you know the person better and/or are beginning/already in a sexual relationship.
