Disappointing Vocals

Actually didn't want to see this movie until I saw a production of Jersey Boys.

Finally did in Las Vegas.

Well, the singing in Vegas was incredible. 10X better than the movie.

Was very surprised by the poor movie version. Singing was very poor.

5/10

Agreed. Makes you appreciate how good Frankie Valli was. And very disappointed that the song "Who Loves You" was completely ignored, even tho it's what brought them back onstage and revitalized their career.

The 60s Four Seasons didn't sing Who Loves You or December 63 so neither should have been included. The 70s Seasons were totally ignored. The actors should have been dubbed, singing live was a mistake and their voices were only ok.

I disagree with this. Dubbing would have ruined the movie, or at the very least made the suspension of disbelief more difficult for the audience. Clint likes realism and grit, so it doesn't surprise me that he didn't dub their voices. Hearing their real voices was charming and added more to the movie for me. Sure, it would have been nice if the guy playing Valli could have reached a three-octave range, but I would rather have someone in the role that had played that part as many times as he had.

Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin sang in "Paint Your Wagon" and thankfully used their real voices and nothing was dubbed. Would have been a different movie otherwise.

John Lloyd young who played Frankie Valli in the movie also played him on stage. I have the original cast recording of the play and he sounds fantastic. In the movie I thought he sounded horrible.

All the renditions of their songs were off but the THE ANGELS My Boyfriend's Back was horrendous. Also, the horns for Can't take my eyes off you were off the charts bad.

John Lloyd Young was super & received an award. I think his voice is great. Just got his music Cd on Amazon. Pricey, but well worth it
