John Reid....

In the film they depict John Reid as discovering Queen and wanting to manage them. Not true at all. Queen signed a management deal with the owner of Trident studios. That gave them free access to the studio and equipment but Trident was normally not in the business of managing artists.

The deal as you might expect was not a good one and after 3 albums and a big hit with killer Queen the money was not there. They bitterly broke off from Trident and sought out a manager with experience and choose John Reid. They would later dump Reid when they thought he was not committed enough to them.

What bothers me about the Reid character in the film is that he totally violates his fiduciary responsibility to the band by encouraging Freddie to go solo. He represented the band not one member! Freddie's solo career could have ruined the band.

So Reid deserved to be fired on the spot and perhaps even sued.

Well, you can't expect Littlefinger not to conspire, and try to make the most of it for himself.
Though turned out the real a**hole was Tom Branson.
