Ok, what was this film? /ranty post/

There was little bio in this pic IMO. Was it about Freddie? Was it about Queen? Was it about how they wrote 3 songs? I don't know.

Did the end of the film need to be a beat by beat of the Live Aid performance? All of it! I could go on Youtube and watch the real thing in it's entirety, thank you very much.

Also, a Wayne's World reference delivered my Mike Myers himself? He all but winked at the camera.

Granted, these types of films can't spend too much time examining in detail the events that happen because they have to cover decades, but story-wise I was disappointed. Also the other three band members felt underdeveloped as characters. They really felt like a single character who's just "the band".

On the positive, Rami Malek was good in the role. The film _was_ exciting, but that's mainly because Queen's music is exciting, and we get a lot of it. Well, it's mainly that. It had a few fun moments, and I wouldn't say it was a complete waste of time. It could've been so much better though.

I read that the surviving members weren't too happy that the film was so focused on Freddie, but then I was surprised how little they had to do in the final cut, God only knows what earlier drafts must have looked like!?
