Problem with movie premise

Apparently, a drug dealer can be easily robbed by some random kids. He doesn't carry a gun or even pepper spray or taser.

And David's boss doesn't give a shit about one of his employee's was robbed by low-life criminals. I know his boss didn't care about him but that situation can undermine your reputation as a drug kingpin, if you don't retaliate and set an example.
