what the hell is up with the music!?

the songs in the movie don't fit with what's happening on the screen... really weird, and tasteless; *beep* 'adult-alternative' songs are completely out of place with rape and voyeur.

I'm only part way in...and honestly if the music that little girl plays that puts the wild woman to sleep was played nightly I'd probably kill myself rather than be tortured with how much that song sucked.

I kind of agree. I thought the songs were very annoying not so much that they fit or not. It was like some producer decided, "hey here's a good place to put songs from my nephew's sucky alternative band".

Juxtaposition.

Totally agree! The music sucked ass!

I don't think the song was bad during that scene; it doesn't start playing the minute the rape occurs, but before that, when things seem calm in the scene. I think it's meant to belie the fact that everything seems normal to most of the characters in the house, but they're not; even the rape itself was calm, I was surprised at how still she was.

Gosh guys, I LIKED the songs. Thought some of the music was out of place, but really liked the melodies.

Loved the film but feel a soundtrack should enhance the film not take it over. I also was playing with the audio throughout the film. If your attention is taken away from a film by the additional music then it stops you becoming totally immerse with the storyline.

agreed it was a very strange choice that did not fit.

The soundtrack was great, arguably the best thing about the movie. And the fact that it doesn't necessarily match what we see on screen at times just adds to the bizarreness of the script.
