Best Mars based film ever is...

Capricorn One

The Last Days on Mars = The Running Dead, 'cause the gravity is less than Earth the zombies can move quicker!

How about Mission to Mars?

reply

Mission to Mars was terrible. Red Planet was better.

reply

As to scare us, Red Planet is better. But Mission to Mars is more charming. And the scene of abortive tries to save Woody and when he is sacrificing himself is the most touching scene I've ever seen.

reply

Ha ha The Running Dead! I like that :D

DISPLAY thy breasts, my Julia!

Total Recall is obviously the best Mars based film sucker...or is it...

reply

Total Recall is by far the best I've seen.

reply

I've never heard of this. Thanks for the head's up!

I also cast my vote for Mission to Mars. Cool movie. But I must say Stranded (2001) was a very cool movie too, though a bit cheaper in production.

How about the 1968 Mission Mars!

No votes for Robinson Crusoe on Mars?

reply

Almost forgot that movie. It is actually relative good compared to its age.
Sry but my vote went to the old Total Recall with Arnold S. instead. :-)

reply

I like Total Recall.

The Martian Chronicles was good. Although it is a mini-series, not a film.

reply

My favorite Mars film is Stranded.

reply

I thought Stranded was just awful. Really, one of the worst films I have ever seen.

reply

Sorry, I didn't like Stranded either. I remember it having really bad acting. Normally I love bad films but I couldn't connect with the people in this one.

I'd have to pick Total Recall, it's blend of humour, Jerry Goldsmith music and a great cheesy cast is a standout.

Stranded was insanely bad. I kept watching it and just couldn't believe it can get any worse but it did that till the very end. I had just given a couple of films 1/10 recently and started to feel sorry for them cause they were at least a few stars better than this turd. The unbelievably stupid and implausible story, the wooden acting, the idiotic exaggerated sound design, ridiculous fx, and all the possible and impossible cliches interwoven in just about any aspect of this horrible film. The only thing that was somewhat good was production design.

This film though, is amazing. 8/10
