The one scene that ruined my life.

Where Christopher Waltz (Alan) is stuffing his face with that peach/pear/apple (I can't remember what it was - the irony) while half grunting/talking on his mobile.

That scene just made me want to vomit. The sounds he was making, the chewing, I just couldn't hack it and for the rest of the film, and so-on, that scene just haunted me. And still does. It made my skin crawl.

And I just hated him after that.

That's all.

you seriously pick that one over the vomit scene for disgusting?

i thought he was great, it takes a real talent to talk and eat so naturally like that.

reply

That was actually my favorite scene.

reply

Actually eating while talking makes acting easier, people tend to think less when they eat so usually when theres an actor who can't act they just stuff him/her up with something to eat while they say their dialogue to prevent obvious bad acting.

reply

Yeah, right, because of all people Christoph Waltz can't act.

Brilliant.

Cobblers.

Clift_M - if you think that was disgusting, watch Christoph Waltz shove down the apple strudel in Inglourious Basterds. The man clearly knows how to enjoy food :-)

reply

Don't get out much, do you Clift?

reply

I love the acting of Christopher Waltz .. all the actors were excellant..

reply

Ha ! That scene reminded me of the scene in BASTERDS when he's talking to Shosannah in the restaurant while he's eating the pastry ! Same delivery, etc. I almost expected him to say : ATTENDEZ LA CREME !! :)

reply

That was a really good scene, he was so natural! I was laughing because we all know someone like this. And then he started snorting when he was laughing. That was priceless.

reply

I liked the scene, it seemed natural, people do that (especially someone like his character, I'd assume, who is seemingly always on the job). LOVED the snorting laugh he gave... As long he doesn't pull a "see food" on me, I could watch that man eat ;)

Now that you say that - Its my favorite scene of the movie. The way he stands on one leg and the other is kinda angled. And how he decided to pick a location for the plate so he can eat and talk at the same time, be away from people yet have some sort of ignorant presence and have no regard in eating and talking at the same time.

His real character is really shown though that. Then he says how he though that pie was *beep* yet it doesnt really seem that way when he is eating it.

What a great thread.
