26 and still in high school?
So a couple of the characters were born in 1988 and they're still in high school. I guess they flunked, like, eight times in a row? Why wasn't this mentioned in the film?
You never did.

She's 27. A lot are in early to mid 20's. 27 is late 20's it's not unheard of but it is not as common. I thought she had to be around 30 because I remember her from Hope Floats in 98.

Actors play characters. Actors can be any age, as along as they kind of look the age of their character. An actors real age or other biodata really has nothing to do with the plot.
The girl who plays the main character was born in 1988, but she really did look like a high school kid to me.
The OP obviously knows nothing about films including the beginning, casting. Rachel McAdams was in her late 20's, and I'm sure you don't think she wasn't excellent as Regina George.
It's never been uncommon to cast older young adults to play teenagers. I'm not going to waste my time to explain, you can do your own research.
A person hates you because they either wanna be you, see you as a threat, or hate themself
As said earlier, I am surprised when a movie about high schoolers actually does use actors who are teenagers.
The most unbelievable was probably Stockard Channing in Grease. Some people can pull it off and look like teenagers when they are much older, but she was over 30 AND looked over 30 as well.
I actually was surprised to find out Bella Thorne is 18. she looks mid 20's in this movie.
shareHahahahahahahaha I was gonna bring up Stockard Channing in "Grease".
Back in 1998, when Paramount Studios released the 20th anniversary of "Grease" in theaters, I was fortunate enough to see it again on the big screen AT Paramount Studios. I was 8 or 9 when it first came out and to say I was obsessed with that movie would be a gross understatement.
Anyways, I took my brother, and we were cracking up the entire time. Especially at Channing's casting because she looked to be about 40, playing a 17 year old. Wtf were the producers thinking?? (She was a great Rizzo, don't get me wrong.)
