I like this movie....no one thinks in the same way?

Yeah...I know the movie is quite different from the original, and nearly none of actors are portugese. But, as a spectaculor, I really enjoyed watching this movie. (6.8 is too LOW for me) Anyone also fancy this movie?

Grande filme! :)
(Great movie)

I loved it also but I will refrain from commenting on the score.

I can't wait to see it has it hasn't been released in the US yet, it will probably just end up straight to DVD here. But I'm a huge fan of Christopher Lee and Jeremy Irons, who shared a scene together in this film.

reply

Don't get your hopes up. This adaptation is a total mess.

I really enjoyed the movie - I don't know the book. I was quite impressed (again) by Jeremy Irons and the rest of the cast. Also the setting in Lisbon was very pretty. I got a bit confused with the story, but could still figure it out :-)

reply

I agree with you, thoroughly enjoyed it.

I thought it was a beautiful movie, a really beautiful movie!
Someone said the book was better but I didn't read the book so I only judged the film on its own an I loved it.

If you can't see 'em, you know you've got proper invisible runes.

I love this movie. You really need to see it twice in order to feel what the author intends to convey his message to the audience.

reply

No the movie was actually better the book is a bit boring and overly long!

Its uncle Frank Kirsty!

Old fashioned literary adaptation with big thoughts & grand emotions. Excellent actors (old & young) bring life to an important piece of post-WWII history in a place most of us have never been. Not every movie needs "edge." NTTL is a welcome alternative in our over-wrought era of excess.

Well said, I certainly couldn't have said it any better...

Right. Well, I have to-- I have to go now, Duane, because I, I'm due back on the planet Earth.

Hi, you said the movie is different than the original. What is the title and year of the original movie ??

I didn't know this was a remake.

Thanks

reply

I haven't seen it yet, but they are talking about the novel it is based on, which I also have not read.
So no, it's not a remake, just an adaptation of a novel.

reply

I did and gave it an 8
