So is this setting up a cinematic universe?

All the references to other King stories (The boy has the Shining, the Pennywise statue, the toy Christine, etc.)...Is the It remake part 2 of the cinematic universe and connected to Dark Tower? And does the Gerald's Game Netflix movie tie in (No pun intended) as well?

I would like to see a Stephen King shared universe, but I think this movie was a failure and it's unlikely they'll be any follow-up to it. However, with the success of IT, I do think we will be seeing more big screen adaptions of King's work.

Personally, I'd like to see a film adaption of Salem's Lot set in the 70s, I know it wouldn't be as creepy as the mini series, but I'm open to seeing another adaption of the novel.

King has been doing that retrofitting thing since the 80s. Basically he's referencing everything he can in the Dark Tower books. Hell, he even made himself (as himself) a minor charater in the books!

Personally I find it a bit untasteful.
