Waste of resources?
Why would the allies waste that gas, time and bombs on one person in the woods in the middle of nowhere?
shareI'm not sure it was the allies. He was supposed to be locating rebels on the border and he lost contact with his unit. His superiors thought he failed the mission (as Sam hears on the radio) and they decide to go ahead with the airstrike to presumably kill the rebels in that woods.
