Don't Bother with this pile of crap.

Honestly, avoid this at all costs. this movie made no sense whatsoever.

I've seen better acting in alvin and the chipmunks.

Agreed.
Terrible movie and a waste time.

I certainly hope I hear from Russ. I'll tell him to have a tall glass of *beep* off.

reply

This looks like a zombie movie without the zombies.

I just watched the trailer and it looks insipid and inane. Maybe when it's released on RedBox I may bite, but even then this doesn't look worth spending $1.25.

Agreed.

That's exactly what it is. They could've done more with the whole "drink the blood and become a cannibal" angle which was seen in one scene, but unfortunately nothing else came of it. To make matters worse I see there's someone involved with this film who didn't take kindly to me and a few others who didn't like it.

I posted in the thread about the nudity and gore, stating that I agreed with OP. Soon after that I got a response saying I was a troll and how I should go watch porn if I wanted nudity. Cosmicgirl responded to him and I said I agreed with her, only to be met with the Youtube video he kept posting. lol.

I saw this movie last night for free on the movie channel and I still felt ripped off. Still it was WAY better than the musical horror film "Don't Go Into The Woods". That makes this look like a masterpiece. :)

The funniest part in "Don't Go Into The Woods" was when the chick was being chased through the woods and actually stopped running to start singing then kept singing the whole time she was being stabbed. :)

Oh yeah that Don't go in the Woods was awful I thought it was going to be good like the original that was made in the early 80's (I can't remember the year) after about 5 minutes I turned it off the one from the 80s is way better

Do you have any films in distribution? Are you a successful filmmaker? That's what I thought! Your opinions mean squat! Go play with Barbie dolls! :)
I don't care about this film, but, at least the filmmakers made a movie that was released to the public.

reply

The person who make this travesty of a film isn't a successfil filmmaker either. The film shouldn't of been made at all as its badly made. I am entitled to my opinion as you are entitled to yours.

reply

Ok.. I respect your last post. Fair enough. My point is that I have made films that have gone to distribution and it is the hardest thing anyone can probably ever do. I am not sure if you are a filmmaker or not but when I see people that just bash something that at least got to the public, I wonder if those people know how difficult it is to make films and get them distributed. I am in no way involved in this movie, and IMO I think that this is not a good movie whatsoever, but, I respect the filmmaker's desire to stick with it and get it out there. And true, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

reply

Not everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Stupid people have no right to think for themselves. That's why we have laws, to keep the 99% of morons from harming the 1% that rule the world.

"Donner Pass" is a good modern example of the slasher genre. I have no idea what most of the posters are whining about on this thread. Everything jells together for an effective horror romp in the California wilderness. It was shot at Big Bear Lake, San Bernardino National Forest and Monterey Park, California; needless to say, great Winter locations. Another plus is the awesome song played during the opening & end credits "High Ground" by Orenda Fink.

Gorgeous redhead Desiree Hall shines as the female protagonist and there's at least one solid male protagonist as well. One guy -- the one who's family owns the cabin -- is an awkward misfit; and the good-lookin' brunette he's sorta set-up with disdains him (cutie Adelaide Kane). The social dynamics get real interesting when a second group of uninvited youths join the party and tensions start to flare. I've been in situations just like this and it rings true. Dominic DeVore stands out as one of the bad dudes.

Although I call "Donner Pass" a slasher adventure, it's just as much a monster flick, even if the "monster" turns out to be human, which I'm not saying. So, really, this is just a classic creature feature utilizing the true story of the infamous pass.

It doesn't overstay its welcome at 90 minutes.
