An interesting debate. But I'm leaning towards legalization because the benefits actually do out way the cons. It would be safer for everyone b/c of monthly tests, screening, etc. Plus it would generate a lot of money from taxes.

I thought the divorce bit was ironic. The divorce rate is sky high already, legalizing brothels won't change that.

I've never watched that Diary of a Callgirl show, but apparently this woman did what she did b/c she enjoys sex. -- To the condescending person who said she must have been abused as a child: what an ignorant, prudish thing to say.

Then to say if she really liked it so much, she wouldn't charge for sex... come on. Believe it or not, there are people who do their jobs because they enjoy it. Getting a paycheck for something that you like to do?!? That's called WIN-WIN. Are you so judgemental about everything?

That's like saying teachers/doctors/sales-people/bus drivers/cashiers/plumbers/managers at mcdonalds/bakers and chefs/telemarketers/the lady at the perfume counter, basically anyone that likes their job, would work for free. We all have bills to pay.

They don't call it the 'oldest profession' for nothing, it will never go away. Might as well regulate it.

Listen! Do you smell something?

it will never be legal as the women of the world who would not do it do not want the competition.

basically, women are prostitutes. you take them out to dinner, buy them some chocolates and flowers, and then they give it up. Men would just rather cut to the chase.

There would be a lot more RAPE Cases that go unsolved if Prostitution was legal. Men could easily say they paid for the sex and the woman resisted afterwards. Trying to prove mutual sex and rape would be a lot tougher I think.

Technically only solicitation is the illegal part and that means your not allowed to walk around and advertise what you do behind closed doors is your buisness just dont admit to it alot of inbetween the lines crap.

I wrote an article titled ¨Legalizing Prostitution Consistent with Family Values¨ in my college newspaper when I was a Junior more than 21 years ago. And I am a conservative Republican!
