Best Movie of All?

Since Allen is generally regarded as the best director among his peers, and they regard "Midnight in Paris" as his best work, that'd make this film the best ever, right? I think it just may be.

I say yes.

Yes I think maybe so. I've seen this movie so many times and its perfection is more striking with every viewing.

reply

Probably best of the year, but of all? Hmm...

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

It's probably Woody's best film, but that doesn't even put it in the top 20 of all time for me. Maybe the top 50?

It's pointless to compare this with, for instance, The Shawshank Redemption since the two films move in so different genres. That's why there basically isn't a 'Greatest Movie Ever'. I mean, most people have a favorite (or even a couple) that strikes a chord with them, but *beep*, every movie is so different and set out to make you feel different things.

But yes, this is a *beeping* masterpiece and a very, very special film.

What a Masterpiece!

i think it's very good but it's not my favourite film, not even my favourite Woody Allen film. Something like that is always going to be subjective.

Personally I think this is Woody Allen's masterpiece. I love every single thing about this film. Allen has made many good movies in different genres but "Midnight in Paris" beats them all - at least in my point of view. Needless to say it's my favourite movie.

This has my vote as Allen's masterpiece, with HANNAH AND HER SISTERS running a distant second.
