What exactly makes Jori so popular?

It's interesting how the whole Jori pairing seems to be more popular than any other pairing on the show. I don't know if that's suppose to be surprising or what. But what are the reasons for this? Is it because they represent the typical "love-hate" type of relationship that many people love so much? (e.g. Freddie/Sam, Ron/Hermione, Darcy/Elizabeth, Buffy/Spike, etc.); or is it because the idea of a same-sex couple (especially with two VERY attractive young ladies) is intriguing? Or... some other reason(s)? To be honest even I find the idea of them as a couple almost a turn on. But I'm not quite sure why. Can't really put my finger on it. Anyone else have any opinions about this?

It's certainly not sexual though Jade's character has the tendency to move to S&M stuff. It's just a great teenager jealousy and like pairing.
