I never did understand why the Lauren chose FDR.

It's like Hollywood wants us to believe that women choose men as if they are choosing a beautiful wild horse, that we need to "break in" in order to ride it, thus making the relationship more rewarding. It's hogwash, actually.

Then at one point she complains that Tuck is a little too safe. What's wrong with safe?

Lauren's first date with Tuck was really nice, and it was genuine as there was no competition involved yet. She had fun and she liked him.

Compare that to FDR, whose first date was at a club. I mean, get real.

Everything about FDR was so disingenious compared to Tuck who was just a nice guy, who deserved more than that bitchy ex-wife of his.

I agree for me in looking for love. But what if the female character is attracted wild and crazy? She did seem to be a tad controlling, and boring. What fun is it if the person you want to rule always agrees? As for Tuck and his ex-wife, maybe she was looking for a guy with an edge too. so everyone wins, Tuck did want to get back with his family, and the other couple had a chance to get what Tuck and his ex-wife have, this is a rom-com.

She was like like: "Tuck is a lot of fun...But seems too safe." Well how is having fun all the time "safe and boring"?

Truck wife was hot, more beauty than Reese and she was not a bitchy... she was under Truck fake life stile, you know, the cover of his real work.

She slept with his "best" friend. That revelation alone disgusted me with both his ex-wife and his so called friend. Actually I didn't like any of the other characters. Tuck was in the losing end no matter how this movie ended. The reasons why Lauren din't choose him were laughable.

You are right; however, I am reluctant to believe him. Either he lied about it happening at all or it didn't happened that long ago. Considering his personality and what happened in the movie, the later is quite likely. There isn't any reason why it shouldn't have been reveled for Tuck before he got serious with his wife. Besides how can he call it justice, when he stole the girl from Tuck, although it was partially Tuck's own fault.

agreed.

when both of them were being themselves, before the "act" part, tuck was sensitive, while fdr was a party/nightclub monster, which means childish, and no girl is attracted to childish guys.

girls tend to be attracted to sensitive guys "with an edge", aka tuck, so the reasons they chose fdr to end up winning are more on the grounds that pine is more marketable as a leading man in rom-coms than hardy.

I wonder if the writers know how badly they screwed this up. I think they made a big mistake. I'm pretty sure they try to anticipate who the favorite will be based on the story, star power, looks, etc. I knew she was going to end up with FDR the moment she met him in the video store. What I don't think they realized was just how much audiences would overwhelmingly pick Tuck over him. I'm a guy and even I was disappointed with the ending. What a colossal error in judgment.

Agreed. Pretty much everything she liked about FDR was based on lies he was telling her from his oh so creepy recon of her, except for introducing her to his family.

It's all what floats your boat really me chris pine all the way even the character I would go for at least you won't be bored FDR seemed more exciting of a choice.
