intially nightmarish but then got very cheesy
Intially I thought it was pretty freaky at first and some v nightmarish scenes but then half way through got way too cheesy and hilarious.

shareYeah but still not funny enough to make it as a so bad it's good movie.
shareExactly my thoughts. The tension and fear really build for the first half up until the seance scene. I found myself fully on edge up to that point. Even the whole speech about The Further had me interested, but after that point it became almost laughable. It suddenly got very cheesy and not scary in the slightest
shareYes the first half was amazing and then it became a ghost busters parody. Such a waste it could've been so much better if they sticked to a somehow more classic theme and cut this ridiculous story about the further.
shareI didn't mind the final 3rd, but yeah the first 2 acts are FAR better.

I agree. I loved the first half of the movie but The Further ended up being a great disappointment- which stinks because the idea had potential. The main demon was extremely frightening to me at first and then in The Further he was basically giving himself a manicure while the boy sat with a chain around his ankle and his dad easily freed him. Boooooo
shareI am in the minority as I enjoyed the second half a lot more than the first. For one, Lin Shaye appears in the second half and she is one of my favorite actresses ever. Her performance is phenomenal. Also, I enjoyed the scenes that took place in The Further. The Gothic sets, lighting, and cinematography were beautiful. I also enjoy the bizarre, surreal, nightmarish atmosphere it had.
shareI thought the concept was really unique and enjoyed the Further...looks cool to me!
