Yep, its settled! You decided to stand your ground of being a selfish, myopic, xenophobic ass, congrats! Rush Limbaugh would be proud of you!
Um, where did anyone say because you help people in another country you dont remember your own country men? Did all those countries and citizens that donated money, their time and effort to the people of Hurricane Katrina forgot their fellow countrymen as well?
The 37 million people who are suffering in America, a few out of that number I personnally know btw, couldnt you argue that some people blame them for their personal surrows as well? They live in the richest, most powerful, oppurtunistic country on the planet, tell me why they suffer while the rest of the 270 million Americans thrive? And you have the nerve to question a nation that never even had that oppurtunity to begin with?
More importantly, does it MATTER??? When you are telling the rest of us who we should turn our attention to, should we question all those Americans and why they are so downtrodden in life or should we just not ask those questions because they are Americans? Or maybe we should just help them because they are human beings instead. Theres an idea.
Your 'arguments' are flawed at best. You dont want to give, FINE, no one is forcing you to, the beauty of democracy, but dont write posts like this expecting others to turn a blind eye just because we dont all share the same passports.
I'm grateful for all those countries that didnt turn their backs on us during Hurricane Katrina, which you conviently ignored ;), for all those countries that helped in September 11, for those countries that sent soldiers to sacrifice their lives to stand next to us in Afghanistan when we asked in honor of Sept. 11th and even for Iraq which was something even more controversial to do. You do it because somewhere, you simply think (or hope) you are doing the right thing, regardless if it benefits you and your country or not.
