Just watched Hunt to kill

a good movie with good performances by all. Compared to damage and the stranger, hunt to kill is a far superior film. Better production values and direction help this. Austin is good in his role especially towards the end and bellows has good fun with this villian role. I hope austins next movie is just as good (and hopefully better) than this.

4/5

i just grabbed this myself, it was a surprise to me. I didn't know anything about it since I hadn't been on Austin's IMDB page in a while and WWE hasn't done anything to promote it that I have seen.
Glad to hear it's decent, me and my son will watch after football.

BaBa Booey!!

Hows the Steve Austin vs. Gary Daniels fight?

There is no such thing as a 'hard PG-13'.

reply

Verily I say unto thee...its a great fight and one of the best I've seen in a long time.No shakycam crap here just good well filmed action where you can see every move.

reply

the fight is rally good with a fantastic payoff - no shaky cam thing!

so it isnt as cheap and boring as the stranger?
i canceled my preorder..i was afraight of an other blind buy shock...
hows the viloence?
r rated stuff or more like hard pg13?

reply

my friend as bobby heenan used to say comparing the stranger to hunt to kill is like comparing horse manure with ice cream.

The dvd i have is uk 15 so i dont no how that translates for the US
The film has some kick ass violence some good effects. I would say its worth a pre order - i would go as far as saying its his best movie (with him as the star).

the condemned is by far the best movie of scsa (or of any wrestler in general) !

hunt to kill is just sheer waste of time...if i want to seen an "action film" i should get "action". this movie just make the viewer wait for that "action" and when one is about to sleep it gives a fist or two !!!

seriously, whats the problem with these wrestler turned actors!!! they just lose their worldwide fanbase by making such movies. i mean...what was scsa thinking when he joined expendables...what was there in that movie for him...a screen time of 2 minutes of which 1:30 were with no dialogues. did he joined it just to stand next to villain and say nothing !!!

same is the case with Dwayne "don't call me the rock" Johnson who is making movies that show for one week only which no wrestling fan watches !!! these wrestlers made a legendary career in wrestling and gave it all up for z-grade movies.

thankx for reading ...replies are welcome...

True and what I love about SCSA movies is that they focus on what his strong points are and doesn't waste screen time on things he is not suited for.

Like all the movies he starred doesn't waste time on romance (a little bit in Condemned but mostly in background) or sex scenes.

And even the actions are primarily brawl fights. They don't have him hanging in the wire flying around and fighting. I like that and prefer that than having fight scenes where the hero flies around and fights 20+ people (unless it's Jet Li or Jackie Chan since they are believable).

There are a few painfull and illogical parts in the script and the acting was pretty weak, but I enjoyed the movie. It worths watching.

I thought this movie lost momentum once the mission got under way. It became nothing but a bunch of threats(as if the movie wasn't small enough). Still, Austin is definitely reaching acting wise.

reply

Personally I thought Austin's acting was very monotonous and unrealistic; he didn't change his tone ONCE in the entire film.

Steve Austin's response to being told he's won a million dollars: "Fank".
Steve Austin's response to being told the bailiffs are coming to collect everything he owns: "Funck".

I think his voice box may have split a few strings with all the wrestling he's done..

I didnt mind Man Vs Wild...sorry, I mean 'Hunt to Kill' :)

I just saw this film and I just had to keep on laughing. It truly was a bad movie. I missed the beginning, so I didn't know if it was mentioned where it was set, but I thought for sure it was the Pacific Northwest. Then I read on here that it was supposed to be Montana?

A couple of small things I noticed that I'm not complaining about, just pointing them out. I liked how when Steve Austin was climbing up the cliff, you could clearly see he was being hoisted up by a cable and he was just putting his hands and feet on the rocks to make it look like he was climbing. Also, at the very end how his daughter still looks absolutely beautiful, even though she's been in the woods for 2 days, been beaten up a couple of times, etc.

I liked the film too. Just kinda wished the blonde lady had gotten to live at the end but it wasn't a deal breaker or anything.
