I liked it

Yes it is "just" a teenagers vs vampires(ish) slash, bite and gore fest.
But... it is well done.
Unlike with most movies in this genre I actually sort of liked the young kids in this movie.
The director manages to make them look sympathetic within a few minutes.
At least to me.
No shallow 1 dimensional hip groovy wise cracking babes and studs, but more realistic kids.
You won't cry and be broken hearted when they start dying, but you do feel kind of sorry for them.
The main character is a great girl, I instantly liked her and wanted her to make it trough the ordeal.

The story is a (small) step above average, good setup, not much depth there but it works and you accept it.
The makeup is scary without going over the top, the location is lovely horrendous and after a good introduction of the main characters things soon start going bad and you want to know what happens next and actually want the hero to survive.
So in that aspect the movie did what a good movie should do.

I enjoyed it, liked the surprise ending, technically its pretty good as well.

I just got done watching this movie. I give it a 7/10.

The beginning of the movie sucked, half the time I couldnt understand why she wanted to leave that town so damn badly. However, once the Simi Trailer gets to the loading dock part of the movie. The rest of the movie got a lot more enjoyable at that point.

I like how they shot the movie with them crawling on the walls and stuff. Made it more beliveable as vampires. Other then not making their "Eyes/Hearing/Smell" lot better, made them suck more as vampiers.

However, I'm sorta glad they left the ending open, for a part 2. I dont mind seeing a part 2 of it.

I also gave it 7/10. Its a good solid film that worked surprisingly well for me. I like the creatures having no back story, no description of what they actually were and I honestly didn't see the twist coming. Given the amount of crap released on a weekly basis horror movie wise, you could do a lot worse than this.

Go spit Riggs!

yeah it was OK

6/10

It almost seemed like a pilot to a TV show.

I think the main reason I liked it was for the main character. She wasn't some dumb blond shrieking half the movie, but inventive and willing to do what was necessary. Yes, the plot wasn't that original, but I went into the movie going, huh? What's Prowl? Had no idea if it was vampires or a serial killer or anything, so I was in it for the ride. As soon as I saw the creatures, though, I guessed at the twist ending, simply because it made the most sense.

Would love a second part to this. They totally left it open without being too loose. Did wish the editing wasn't so jumbled during the action scenes. Yeah, it made it more "action-y" but it was confusing when they would be in one spot, then another in the next shot without any kind of transition.

Oh. Wow, those kids died quick! After having all of them with us since the beginning, having them killed off in five minutes was really fast, but it made sense. Don't know if I'd have it any other way, but I was laughing.

I liked it up until they got out the truck to be honest, then kinda went downhill a bit for me, was expecting better from then on.

Not too bad but liked 'Husk' more.

This won't come anywhere in the list of my favorite movies but given the kind of trash that is made in the name of horror movies, this was really a good one, I give it a 7.

*SPOILERS*

Perhaps as another twist, they could have made a desperately hungry Amber prey on the sole survivor who was with her & after that Amber accepts who she is, albeit with a sense of deep guilt & regret. But that wouldn't have been a typical cliche happy ending.

I was always fascinated with the enemies of heaven -Crowley

If Amber had eaten Suzy, then that would be cliche.
I liked that at the end, she still protected her friend.

I think that going into this movie having no real idea what the actual plot was helped me like it a lot more than I think many people did. I was actually the opposite than a lot of people in that I was really disappointed with the standard slasher fare feeling I got from the first third of the movie, then when the action really started I became more and more pleasantly surprised with the direction it was going. Yes it is well traveled ground, but then so is 99.9999999% of entertainment media today, so it's ridiculous to use that as a reason to not like something. I liked it enough to want to see more. I thought that at least the principle actors did a good job and I especially liked the lead.

I also liked it way more than Husk. I thought Husk had a really cool premise but was poorly executed in many ways and I found it kind of boring because I didn't like the setting and execution. In comparing it to the 30 Days of Night movies, it was definitely miles better than the second one. I'd love to see this as a TV series, or at least a sequel.
