A Better Life was an excellent movie and I really recommend it to everyone!
Does anyone else know any other movies that are closely to this one? Something that's about people from poor countries trying to make a better life for themselves?
I'd recommend "The Visitor" and "Maria Full of Grace."

shareWhile watching the movie, I was immediately reminded of "Ladri di Biciclette" [Bycycle Thieves] (Federico Fellini, 1948) and "Maria Full of Grace" (Joshua Martson, 2004), which were both mentioned by previous posters.
If you are into documentaties, one of the films nominated for a Best Documentary oscar two years ago was "Which Way Home" which follows real life Central American children seeking a better future in the US.

It's a good movie.
You might want to see Chop Shop (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0990404/). It's a pretty good film about a street orphan and his sister trying to make ends meet.
