If a live-action movie should arise...

First of all, that would be EPIC. Secondly, I would demand at least two good solid hours. None of this 98 min. crap. XD Thirdly and lastly, my opinion on cast goes as follows:

Alistair - Alan Tudyk. He is the one and only man I can see playing him; it would be brilliant.
Morrigan - Scarlett Johansson. Not blonde, of course, but she can be an amazing actress if she really puts her effort into it.
Duncan - Liam Nieson. Nothing says, "Awesome father figure/leader," quite like him.
Leliana - Maggie Gyllenhaal. I could just really envision her being a bad butt bard, all alliteration intended.
Zevran - Ben Barnes. His accent in "Chronicles of Narnia" made me quite partial to him for this role.
Oghren - Liev Schreiber. Hilarious drunk half-pint? I think he could pull it off.
Sten - Djimon Hounsou. Race change, I KNOW, but he is brawny with a stern, deep voice.
King Cailan - Ryan Kwanten. His entirety screams for this role.
Wynn - Dame Judi Dench. Not as thin, but she has the right attitude.
Flemeth - Blythe Danner. I think her voice would just be marvelous for it.
Arl Howe - Tim Curry. He's brilliant. I say let him do what he does best.
Teyrn Loghain - Mads Mikkelsen. After much mental debate, his 'silent but deadly' appearance won me over.

As for the lead character... Many deem that a male noble would be a necessity, but I believe that a female elf would prove to be more unique, far more connecting, and able to dish out the mandatory Hollywood 'forbidden romance' with Alistair. I believe the leading lady should be Jessica Biel. We have not seen in a serious role for quite some time, and I miss her wondrous acting.

Well. That is it. Discuss. :)

I agree with aquariansheep whole heartedly, especially about Alistair. The only one I would change is the fact that a main character generally hits a male warden in what I would think. I do see a noble, although a female elf would be fresh. However I was thinking

Warden - Chris Hemsworth

I would also assume that the movie would focus more on the Redcliff part of the story. No need to mention this, I just think if they made more of a franchise it would be a lot easier to stretch it

I was just looking over it, and I realized that I agree so many of the people you mentioned should be there, I might re-arrange some. how does this sound?

Warden – Chris Hemsworth
Alistair – Alan Tudyk
Morrigan - Antje Traue
Leliana – Amy Adams
Sten - Micheal Clark Duncan
Wynne - Dame Judy Dench
Oghren - Gerard Butler
Zevran - Ben Barnes
Shale - Richard Kiel
Duncan – Sean Bean
Cailan - Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
Flemeth – Susan Sarandon
Anora – Diana Agron
Zathrian – Ben Kingsley
Bhelen – Jared Harris
Harrowmont – Ed Harris
Arl Eamon – Liam Neison
Riordan – Paul Bettany
Loghain - Mads Mikkelsen
Arl Howe – Tim Curry (I mean he was even the voice in the game)

Considering naturally that those playing dwarves would be made to look much shorter and burlier

reply

Warden-Tom Hardy
FemWarden-Emilia Clarke
Alistair-Henry Cavill
Morrigan-Emily Blunt
Leliana-Clemence Poesy? I dunno, some cute little French actress...
Zevran-Gael Garcia Bernal
Sten-Jason Momoa
Wynne-Blythe Danner
Oghren-Brendan Gleeson's not perfect casting, but I can't think of anyone better at the moment...
Shale-Why not just use Geraldine Blecker's voice? I don't think we'll see her face.
Duncan-I like a Liam Neeson or a Sean Bean, maybe slightly prefer Neeson just because we kill Bean far too often xD
Cailan-Chris Hemsworth
Flemeth-Would love a Kate Mulgrew cameo
Loghain-Mark Strong
Anora-Kelly Reilly
Eamon-Bernard Hill

So I'm noticing my cast list has a lot of man-candy in it. Whoops. xD

With the exception of Amy Adams, all your choices are very nice. But Morrigan can´t be played by Beckinsale or Claudia Black, they are too old for the part. Morrigan is suppose to be in her twenties.
