Would this be an OK movie for my 10 year old to watch?

My babysitter has been complaining a lot about my son acting up. I told her to just put in a movie and he'll just zone out. But she said he is getting bored with all of our films... Would this been an ok rental for my son or do you think he'll get easily distracted during. i really hope the babysitter can just pop this in and get to relax for a little while....

you sound like one hell of a terrible parent. I have seen some stupid comments in my time but you really take the gold. No doubt you kid will be deranged by the time he is 11.

I cant believe the only question you want to be answered is 'will he be distracted'.

Why not be a real parent and get him some kiddy films or toys to play with, maybe a computer game.

I still cant get over how stupid and bad at parenting you are.

This movie deals with child birth and masturbation. If your 10 year old has seen some educational shows before hand, it might be acceptable, with a minimum of at least an explanation about the birds and the bees.

I sure hope you don't have a real son and this thread is just about trolling. Don't get children of your own. Ever.

Come on scrubs, this is a troll thread. Have fun with it. Go to any movie board for a movie that either contains graphic sex, ridiculous bloody violence/gore, or both, and there will always be at least one topic of some yahoo asking if it's ok for their 5-10 year old to watch it. Don't be that moron who admonishes them for being a bad parent, please.

What gets me is the number of well meaning, but apparently unaware people who fall for this old troll. I don't think I have ever seen one of these threads where the OP didn't get at least 1 live bite.

However with that said, I thought I read that imdb was banning accounts that started these threads. I just looked around and haven't seen any with a recent date, but I'm not up on where the goriest new movies are either.

I for one love these "Is this movie OK for my xx year/month old?", there are some really creative original tales, and comebacks in some of these threads.

"I thought I read that imdb was banning accounts that started these threads."
No. Innocuous bait trolling doesn't violate the T & C.

Also, in order for an account to be banned or a history to be wiped, somebody has to report first. There are gazillions of threads in IMDb (obviously), so it's impossible for the admids to monitor the entire site:

Great! Let the parents, youth ministers, babysitters, etc, etc continue coming and telling us why they need to know if Such and Such movie is acceptable for an x year old.

Don't shoot the messenger, colega.

Btw, I thought that you liked these kind of threads:

??? I do love these threads. I wasn't being sarcastic earlier. I really am happy that imdb hasn't cracked down on these. It was the Jack Nickleson threads that they had cracked down on.

As soon as I saw your message that these threads were OK, I took a chance and started one in Goodbye Uncle Tom, cause I had never done it before.

I know that you weren't being sarcastic:

"I for one love these "Is this movie OK for my xx year/month old?", there are some really creative original tales, and comebacks in some of these threads."
That's why I said: "I thought that you liked these kind of threads"

"I really am happy that imdb hasn't cracked down on these."
IMDb can't crack down on these threads unless they get reported.

"It was the Jack Nickleson threads that they had cracked down on."
That's because the users on that board are reporting these threads.

"As soon as I saw your message that these threads were OK, I took a chance and started one in Goodbye Uncle Tom, cause I had never done it before.
Don't get too excited, chaval, 'cause if somebody reports your thread, your thread could be deleted by the admids, if the reporter is convincing enough. I've seen very innocent threads that doesn't violate the T & C getting deleted just because some troll reported them. The admids don't have the time or enough manpower to read each and every single post that gets reported daily (hundreds of them or even more) to see if said posts violate the T & C, so they have to rely and trust blindly in the honesty of the reporter.
