I just watched the first episode on Presto.
She leaves the husband with kids in the evening and so that we don't think she's a terrible person, the writers make the husband a loud mouth cheater. How convenient.
Other shows like "Dead Like Me" do the breakup thing much better.
I'll give Ep2 a go but I am not optimistic.

They do expand on Steve's character a lot more as the show goes on and he grows a lot. I wouldn't say Suzy is a terrible main character at all though.
We're drawing up a plan for world domination. The key element? Coffee makers that think.
I think they wanted her to appear sympathetic and the husband was an ass but I know what you mean. It was a weird way to start a light hearted kind of show. I liked it first time around but on a second viewing attempt I found I couldn't get into it.
