9x07, introduction of the Whisperers

Something that always bugs me about this, as good and fun of an episode it is.

If the Whisperers are still chasing Rosita after she and Eugene separate, then how was she able to hide him somewhere safe they didn't know, in the barn?

Also I think it would've been a cool alternate scene for them to stay at the water tower, and the Whisperers start climbing up it, eek.
