Geoffrey Rush was as good as Colin Firth

If not better. I wish he won the Oscar as well.

Was he the one who played Logie, if so yes I thought he was much better than Firth who I thought was good but could have been a lot better.
I also thought Helena Bonham Carter was good and better than Firth too.

Rush definately deserved an oscar though, and was no doubt the star of the show.

He's a hard-working and gifted actor, one of the best today.

And Carter may well be the finest actress not to have won an Oscar yet. She was fantastic in King's Speech. Plus, it was refreshing to see her appearing in a highly praised film in a not-so-edgy role, after her fame from the Potter series and "Fight Club."

Don't call him "Logie" you rude, condescending ass, his name was "Logue". You don't even know the man. You don't recognize the good things he did. He is a man worthy of respect.

While I feel it's pointless to compare Rush and Firth in this movie (they're two very different actors, and two very different characters), I have always felt that Rush should have won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor (without necessarily taking away Firth's Oscar).

I agree with this. More to the point. one would need to see the performance of Christian Bale in The Fighter to see if it was better than Geoffrey in this. I thought Rush was fantastic, but Colin Firth richly deserved his award.

Rush nearly stole this film out from under Firth. Both of them were amazing (as was Helena, who needs more straight up dramatic parts like this, she's fantastic in them) but Rush was just... so darn likable here.

He was better - and should have been in the lead actor category along with him. The focus of the film was the relationship between Logue and George.

As a rule I’m not a fan of Rush but I thought he was very good here.
