List of worst superhero films ever

Might get *beep* for my #1, but I don't care. This is my worst superhero films list:

1. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
2. Fant4stic
3. Catwoman
4. Superman IV: The Quest For Peace
5. X-Men Origins: Wolverine
6. Spider-Man 3
7. The Spirit
8. Elektra
9. Green Lantern
10. Man of Steel

Dishonorable mentions: Amazing Spider-Man 2, Blade: Trinity, Howard the Duck, Captain America (1990), Superman III, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Batman and Robin, Wanted, Iron Man 2, TMNT (2014), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, Men in Black 2.

Excellent list! I would slide Suicide Squad in towards the top of that list (maybe under bvs) for the editing alone.

My list would defintely including Fantastic Four (2015) and Batman & Robin. Is it me or do the more recent Superman films (MOS and BvS) seem to have a very split consensus? Meaning some consider them to be among the best superhero films, while others consider them to be the best? There seems to be no in between.

reply

Man of Steel and Batman v Superman are very polarizing movies. There's likely some people who are in the in between, but they're not vocal. They take a very different take on Superman, one of the most iconic superheroes, and people either love the new take or they hate it because they don't recognize this as the Superman they love.

I think I remember Superman Returns being polarizing as well.

reply

Kind of a similar ball of wax. They basically continued the previous movie series, a lot of people thought it would be better to do a clean reboot, and people weren't impressed with the story or that Superman has an illegitimate son.

At least MOS was a box office success (SR was average for its budget) and has higher audience ratings. Although I still thought SR was decent. I think the vocal backlash against MOS has gotten worse since they made Superman even darker for BvS. I think it was mistake to make Batman such a big part of the sequel. They should have made a solo sequel with perhaps a Batman cameo.

Get ready for mcutards to get triggered by your list lol

reply

Why? It's their list, their opinion. Iron Man 2 and 3 and Age of Ultron have their problems. They're a bigger problem for some fans than others.

Xmen apocalypse needs to be near the top of this list for sure.

Here's my list:

1) Fantastic Four (2015)
2) Superman IV
3) Catwoman
4) Howard The Duck
5) Captain America (1990)
6) Batman and Robin
7) Superman Returns
8) Spawn
9) Electra
10) Hulk (2003)

I think Superman 3 is worse than Superman 4 but that's just my opinion. At least Superman 4 focuses more on the title character. Superman 3 is a Richard Pryor comedy that Superman was shoved into at the last minute.

6. Batman & Robin
7. X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Never did get around to seeing The Spirit or Elektra. Heard virtually nothing but terrible things so I didn't bother.
