My thoughts

This series is hard to review. It’s captivating, intriguing yet confusing and leads nowhere. My wife and I enjoyed going through the episodes over the last 2 week, talking about what we thought was going on but in the end, there was too much and not enough at the same time. I know, it’s weird. We were fed lots and lots of information and possible solutions yet we were left on our appetite. So many qualities to this series but they were all undermined by other impediments. The main actors were great but never really evolve in their characters’s arcs. What happened with Richard Kind? He was one of the most interesting character yet he had like 10 minutes of screen time in over 5 hours of content! Did he have other engagements or what? The story was interesting but like I said, it ultimately lead nowhere. So yeah, that’s about it folks, can’t wholeheartedly recommend this series but I can’t say I totally regret watching it. I would like to finish with an excerpt of rogerebert.com’s review: « Despite flashes of escapist camp, it’s an exercise in overwriting instead of anything that ever seems to reach for the creepy, unsettling instability that used to mark Murphy’s best projects. » My rating: 5.5/10
