Pfeiffer for female lead

I think Michelle Pfeiffer would be perfect for the female lead... the tone of the film (at least what little is known of it) seems to be right up her alley and she has a good past working relationship w garcia as well...i think it would be a good fit and an overall nice pairing...

I like Vera Farmiga more and more and I think she will be great in the part.

This former A list mostly movie actress who kind of fell off the planet when she and the A list mostly television actor got divorced more than a decade ago has had her chances to work. Really famous for one iconic movie, the actress recently got a chance to star in an independent movie with a small budget and a great script. The budget was tiny but our actress wanted two separate trailers and cakes, yes cakes, delivered three times a day each day of shooting and had specific dimensions and flavors for each cake. Yeah, the producers passed and ended up landing two Academy Award winners/nominees for the lead roles.

Actress: Kim Basinger
Ex-husband: Alec Baldwin
Iconic movies: "9 1/2 Weeks"
Independent movie: "At Middleton"
Two lead roles: Vera Farmiga/Andy Garcia

Personally, I don't think Pfeiffer comes off that well when she is being someone's parent. She comes off far to cold to me and hardly maternal. And while Vera does over do it at times, there is this need for connection she has in all her characters which makes it so films like this seem like good work for her.

Vera Farmiga is a wonderful, great and beautiful actress and a fine director, too. She is impeccable here. This is a magical film, which makes you wonder what have you been doing with your life. I hope no one in these fora will throw in the foolish-to-be claim that it is impossible for a man and a woman to fall in love in a 1-day journey, or that the film's proposal is preposterous. I repeat, the magic permeates the film and that is what makes it so wonderful to watch, and think about it.

I think almost any decent aging actor and actress could fill the main roles. I was thinking Eric Roberts for George.

I think Vera Farmiga is one of the most underrated actresses in the U.S. She more than deserved her Oscar nomination, and I have never seen her give anything but an excellent performance. She just acts (and directs) so well. She 'reads' the mood of scenes, and knows almost precisely how to handle them. I like Andy Garcia (AND Michelle Pfeiffer), but Farmiga, for me, singlehandedly made this film worthwhile.

Pfeiffer has already done this movie - with Clooney.
Look up 'One Fine Day'.
