At what point did you decide this game was awesome?

For me it was very early on when I just rode out into the prairie and it was one of this crystal clear nights full of stars. The music kicked in and I just though: "This is friggin awesome."

When I actually found myself enjoying riding a horse all over the place.

I bought an X-Box 360 for this game because I had a feeling this game was the one I'd been waiting my whole life for, and I was right. This game exceeded my high expectations several times early on in the game.

Not necessarily in any order:
1. Walking around Armadillo and feeling like I'd traveled back in time.
2. The first cougar attack. It was so unexpected and startling.
3. First thunderstorm. Realistic and stunning.
4. Exploring New Austin on horseback during a starry night.
5. Perhaps the greatest moment of them all: Hunting wolves on a starry night at Riley's Charge early on in the game. I ran out of ammo, the wolves killed my horse, and I had to fend off packs of re-spawning wolves until a new horse came along. I loved how suddenly I went from collecting pelts to survival mode.

When I was stuck on the side of a cliff in an intense thunder storm and I was actually, really frightened... That's when I realised how realistic the game was.

When i rode with my beloved horse on top of a canyon and waited for the sun to set.
Then i realized how much i was enchanted by the characters and the setting. This game is very eerie and absorbing!

Not sure. At first, I was thinking "eh, this game's alright." Then I was like "Yeah, this is pretty good, but it's too long." And finally, I was like "Okay this is a great game, but god damn it :("

1. When my horse slipped down a canyon and died and I really felt bad.

2. First wolf attack in the moonlight when I thought I could take a shortcut off the trail.

3. Fort Mercer when the reinforcements arrived.

4. Riding into a Mexican town and the random characters started speaking Spanish, with no subtitles.

5. Drifting down the river shooting at the snipers and seeing one fall into the river.
