Mike clearly hired her because he wanted to give the mostly european audience someone who looked like them on stage. Shes ok, but there are clearly hundreds of better guitarists in the americas who could play what he was going for better than her.

She didnt know what she was doing during the rehearsals and her voice is also wretched.

The real shame is that shes going to be using this to launch her career. She didnt need to be on stage with Mike period, and she can thank being on there only on her looks(which look abysmal to me). I find it really funny carlos Santana can say hes "Passing the torch" to her like he would be one to pass a torch. Hes not the best guitarist, and he never was

Orianthi's guitar= 30 seconds of mess with about an hour of synth over it

Oh please. Orianthi was given kudos by Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Carlos Santana. She shreds. You must be a jealous mediocre guitar player. Do you think that you are one of the hundreds of better guitar players?, NOT.....

I think Orianthi was good, the only one better would be the chick who played the guitar in Dirty Diana. And I dont even know if she was the player on the actual song on the cd.

Well, I must say I was pretty disappointed with the "Beat It" solo. It was completely off, all speed and no feel. I liked Jennifer Batten's performances much better (why is she gone?). If you are such a wonderful player, you should be able to do better for a tour like this especially seen the details MJ is commenting on.

On the other hand, she is well respected, so maybe I should checkout more of her work. I did like the other stuff she did in the movie but again, mostly speed.

She's *beep* 24. Wait 'til she matures a bit,but she still rocks.

Don't like her - fine, but you know MJ and his team did hold auditions and she got the gig. So did the dancers and other musicians.

If you've got a beef with her take it up with Jackson.

she 24, but considering that she gave up school to dedicate all her time to playing, she is nowhere near where she should be at this point.

She knows how to shred, but seems to have no clue how to turn it into a pleasing harmony or produce a good melody.

katie lost all credibility when she graduated from dissing orianthi to saying Carlos Santana wasn't a good guitarist.

hmm. she played eddie van halen's "beat it" solo almost note for note. Even some of the top guitarists in the world find this solo nearly impossible to replicate. I'd say she's pretty damn good...

Michael was use to sharing the stage with untalented people(His older brother Marlon being one of them)

I thought Marlon had talent in my opinion

Orianthi is no Brian May but she can play guitar.
