Is anyone else tired of all the conspicuous consumption?

I have been a fan of this show since it began, but is anyone else growing weary of the over-the-top conspicuous consumption that seems to be a focus now?

These absurdly extravagant parties, Christmas trees/decorations, mega toys and room redecorating seem to be answering a perfectionist need in Jennifer more than being for the benefit and enjoyment of the kids.

I get it that starting a family later than most people is something they want to now enjoy to the hilt, but come back down to earth.

My 12 year old nephew just go an iPhone for his birthday so I don't think it is just them. Everyone is either charging expensive stuff for their kids or just spoiling in general.

We were lucky if our father took us to McDonalds as he though children should never eat at restaurants at all etc. As in they aren't worth the money spent because they can't appreciate it fully.

I wish the focus was going back to the challenges of being a little person and not so much towards this is our vacation and here's this latest thing we bought and here's us out for breakfast or lunch or dinner and blah blah. I get enough of that stuff on Facebook. How many seasons of this can be interesting?

Jen said in last nights episode that they film on Saturdays and on weekends. That's "family time" in most families so I think the focus will most likely remain on the children's activities. I see your point though. I enjoyed watching Jen at work but I'm not a big fan of Bill so they could leave him out entirely and that would be fine with me. 😀

The Duggars children are uneducated and ignorant and speaking of wrong that what Josh Duggar did and his parents didn't jack to crap to Josh for sexually abusing his four baby sisters and the babysitter
