Much better than I expected

*Spoilers Ahead*
This movie isnt half bad. My friends and I went to it for a good laugh expecting it to be completely awful. We're all 19 and 20 and don't really watch teen movies anymore. We were all pretty surprised though when it turned out to be quite a decent, watchable film. The trailers made it look a lot worse than it actually was. In the trailer, steel sounded really annoying but actually he was one of the funniest parts of the movie. And the acting was all pretty decent for the most part, but a few parts we thought the movie took itself a little too seriously and overacted a bit, but it didn't really take away from the story at all. The cgi was also really pretty decent. Max's liquid electricity powers from his hands never looked fake or dumb at all, and the way it was animated was unique. Ive never seen those kinds of powers before. Sure, there's a couple plot holes, and sure, the suit can come across as a bit cheesy at times. But what else would you expect from a movie based on a line of toys? Honestly the only thing that could have made this movie better is a bigger budget. If they would have had a little more money to work with and a little more marketing, this could have been a blockbuster hit. If your kid likes the marvel movies, spiderman, the power rangers, or even the transformers, they'll probably like this. It gets a 6.5/10 from me.

I respect your opinion, but actually this was the worst movie of 2016.

Script was bad, the robot annoyed me (his voice), actually scrap that, the whole movie was just a load of crap.

I hope they do not make another because it was super BAD. I expected more based on trailers but hey thats why its trailers, to suck you in to watch it.
Actually the trailer is all anyone needs to see. The trailer was put together way better than this whole movie was done.

That is my opinion.

you must have VERY low standards in life. Such trash won't amuse me. Take a bit more than a *beep* CGI *beep* with no depth at all.

For this film you kind of HAVE to go into it with very low expectations, its super low budget and somehow made it into theaters.

Much worst than I expected.

I went 30 minutes in the movie and said : "ok, when will the movie start finally ?"
Blah-blah-blah, a few useless CGI, boring people, boring misunderstandable flashbacks...

When came the "father-old-friend-the traitor" cliché. C'mon screenwriters, this dumbass can be see coming from very far !

Oh oh ! Now this stupid teen met "friendly-floating-alien" and got an armor. That's remind me "X-Or", gasp :(

At the end, there is the final fight between our hero (!) and the villain, who wears an armor too, with a stupid right "hand" lol

Bam ! Smash ! Crack ! Yeahhhh the hero wins, the villain lose.

Cherry on the cake : his mom was aware of this bullsh!t since the beginning. Even before the teen was born. Cliché again.

Don't forget the final kiss with the "nice-girl-mechanical-expert" and end credits.

Wow ! I can't believe I went to the end of that...hmmm...kind-of-a-movie.

I totally agree with this. There are some people who like it and that is fine, but I freaking hated this film. What you said made me remember all of the problems it had. I also will add that I saw this in theaters and even for $6, I still felt cheated. Curiosity really got the better of me.

All I need is one mic...
