So what happened? (spoilers and stuff)

As far as I know, this doesn't have much to do with the original "A Haunting in Georgia" story, other than the Mr. Gordy stuff.

But anyway, I had a hard time following the movie due to the ADHD editing style. Seriously, it turned me off and made it hard for me to get involved. As far as I understand, the Stationmaster was an evil guy who had a reputation for freeing slaves, but actually held them prisoner and turned them into his taxidermy projects. I assume Mama Kay was a descendant of Nell and Levi? If so, how was she even born, when Nell and Levi obviously never made it out of there alive? And how come Mr. Gordy was perceived as "bad" by the pastor? Was that just a red herring to confuse the audience or did they actually explain it? The more I think about it, the worse this movie is. Oh, and what the hell was happening to Joyce in the trailer? Why do ghosts have to be so damn dramatic?

One other note. I think it's funny whenever they show pictures of the actual people involved in the story. They almost always look fat and ugly, whereas their movie-counterparts are always beautiful and flawless. Ah, Hollywood.

Yeah I got confused in some parts too, as not everything added up in the end. But I still liked it - though I'll watch almost any horror movie.
And the pictures they showed of the real family are probably current, where the story took place almost 20yrs ago, so yeah they're gonna look different now. People tend to gain weight as they age.

I figured Mama Kay was a descendent of a sibling of Nell or Levi, not necessarily direct.

I was confused by who was in the hoods. The first time they flashed that scene I thought it was white guys killing him for the railroad but at the end they imply that the five ghosts (who the taxidermist killed) were under the hoods. Can anyone explain?
