Was this film some kind of caricature of Bob Ross?

To be honest, I didn't get too far along in this movie. Can anyone tell me if it was intended to be a spoof or kind of ugly (in my opinion) caricature of Bob Ross? I watched Bob as a kid and still do on occasion. He's like the last of nice humans. From what I read, his time in the military helped him in that regard. And if it is intended to mock Bob Ross, why? I mean, pick on the Kardashians.

It was a Ross inspired character.

I found it be a lovely movie - would recommend watching it to the end.

Maybe pick a lazy rainy Saturday afternoon...

The film is totally its own thing, they're not actually spoofing Bob's life. Just used his image and the concept of his show as a framework for the main character. Whether that idea works or not depends on the viewer I suppose.
