I am watching S2E12 Our Children, Ourselves where Jay and Gloria are eating dinner with this boring couple. Dude says it was so much fun and Jay is surprised because he hadn't said much, to which he responds that his hobby is listening. I heard the exact same lines before but can't remember where, maybe it was a previous Modern Family episode, maybe a movie, maybe a series, don't know. Any ideas?
shareThe closest thing I can think of is the El-Aurian race from Star Trek. In Star Trek: Generation, the villain says something along the lines of "We are a race of listeners".
