Pathetic ending

I LOVED_LOVED_LOVED this show, every season was great.... but I hated the way it ended.

Two couples who are in their 40', and one who is under 30', conclude that their lives will ALWAYS be exactly the same? I found that very sad. I'd kill myself if, at the age of 40, I realize my life will never be better, and that I'll live in the same place for the next 50 years.
They'll never make new friends? Move to better houses?
Jules doesn't even seem so happy with her current job, doesn't she want to pursue a more fulfilling career?
And, what bothered me the most, Travis will always be stuck in a small town, rather than being a photographer in a big city, because his selfish mom and wife won't let him make progress in his life? He'll always be a loser, mama's boy, with a not-so-successful business. I was so happy for him when he said he had an amazing job offer. :(

Some people can be happy with what they have and measure success by friends and loved ones and don't need to chase after more more more. Good luck to you.

Move to better houses?

Better? Their houses are beautiful! Why do some people feel that everyone should be striving for bigger, better, badder? When is enough enough? Not everyone wants to climb the corporate ladder, have huge houses and expensive cars, and every new gadget that comes out. I think the crew had it made - nice homes, decent jobs, friends and family who love and care about them - what more could anyone ask for?

I agree with gothish, but i absolutely hated the last episode!! It was ridiculously stupid.

But that's consistent with the whole show. The characters never have much in the way of aspirations. Surprised you lasted with them so long.
