OK I'm Going To Say It... The Wolverine Is A Better Film Than Deadpool

Yes, I did enjoy Deadpool very much so don't get me wrong. Still, I find this film to be the better and more thrilling comic book adaptation. Deadpool does prove that they should have released the director's cut of The Wolverine and maybe added more blood elsewhere. Logan chopping up ninjas works so well in the director's version and seeing him at least get the costume in a suitcase was wonderful. Even as is, The Wolverine is the more complex film.

Deadpool gets too much credit for being a straight from the books near literal translation. That really doesn't matter to me even as a reader. I judge what hits the screen. The Wolverine delivers more of everything except humor.

Yep for sure, but it's important to bare in mind that The Wolverine was trying to be a character-study and highly dramatic action movie, while Deadpool was a farcical action movie where the drama played a secondary role to the humour, so naturally The Wolverine (especially executed as well as it was) is going to be the better film, because it's not a spoof.

For a farce/satire of the X-Men series though Deadpool did manage some pretty good drama and had a good story too. I think they did a remarkable job of balancing the humour with the drama and making not only a great comedy, but a good overall story as well.
