I have no idea what to make of this movie (spoilers)

Is this not a form of child exploitation? She's actually just a child when she starts banging. I like the finding-who-and-what-I-am story, but using excessive sex as her main theme for her growth seems insulting to women. She's talking sex with strangers she meets, and a father has his sons sit in on sessions. Extremely odd stuff.

How could anyone possibly be as stupid as Max. Girl punches in the face when they meet, pees on the floor, has the mentality of a child, whores herself out....and he still wants to marry her. Even got stiffed at the altar. Duncan wasn't any smarter. I thought he was gonna Hulk our when she said she gave his money away.

The overall story was great. Stone was great. Her constant directness was hilarious at times. The cinematography was great. Besides all the over-the-top sex, I can see why it was nominated for best picture, and I can see why it didn't win.
