Saw today. Favorite film of 2023 so far

Hadn't been to the theater in ages and got a random invite to see this today. Can't claim to have seen all the "great" movies of 2023 and have only seen just over twenty this year total so far, but I haven't seen a film that has affected and enthralled me more to date.

Haven't seen Sacred Deer, but otherwise it's the best of Yorgos's I've seen as well. Incredible score and more laughs than I anticipated.

Certainly not for everyone, but damn it had me and my friend giddy for like an hour afterwards.

I am really looking forward to seeing it but it won't hit theaters here until late January 2024.

If my experience is any indication, don't worry about seat availability. Saw first showing opening day at a popular theater in L.A.'s limited run and I'd estimate less than 10% of the seats were occupied. We are an uncultured bunch here, however. If you're in a swanky part of Europe, results may vary.

Do let me know your thoughts if you have a mind to when you've seen it.

Yeah I don't expect it to be packed as it is a film that will most likely end up with a niche audience. Still, I am mainly interested in Emma and her performance, she is such a great actress. I'll probably post some thoughts when I see it.
