Issue with Max's name drop in intro: small gripe

When Max finally utters his name at the end, it should be a profound moment. But he spits it out in the first seconds of the film, so we the viewer don't give a toss. In the film, Max doesn't give his name in the story, only later faces his humanity. But that's all lost on us. And so the final scene loses its power. Now we all know who the hell Max is. They've made three movies previous this one. But the voice over, though very sparse, is his thoughts. And thus... it under cuts the moment. When we see Max face his past and himself, we're left feeling a little meh.
