I think Dan the pizza guy is the metaphor for death.

I didn't get that impression, but that's not to say you're wrong. Care to elaborate?

He is the most mysterious, yet ominous, character in the movie. Kinda eerie, simply because we do not see him....but he delivers the pizza which slowly kills Charlie, worsening his obesity. Oddly enough, Dan wants to know who Charlie's name....like an evil spirit monitoring him ever so closely, knowing the end is near.

While I can see where you’re coming from with the examples provided, I’m still not sure I’m sold on your theory.

Still, it’s an interesting thought and may be worth further reflection.

I didn't see that at all. The guy was simply curious. As the film goes on he tries, harder and harder each time, to find out what is really going on with the man that never comes out while he is there. Finally he decides to see for himself. IMO it was just a guy that was curious - nothing more.

I assume you rely on the role of the messenger as you symbolize the connection between the pizza guy and Death, who is knocking on the door of the sinner. But you need to elaborate about that if you want us to response.

He's killing himself with pizza. So the pizza guy is death.

I thought the chicken nuggets killed him. It's more easy to choke from chicken.
