Lots of evidence nothing in the movie is real

Magic suitcases that allow shared dreaming? Accused for murder when its obviously suicide? Jumping bail instead of fighting such an easy case? She had herself declared sane? Theee times? Yeah, that's not suicidal behavior. A magic potion in third world countries that makes you sleep instantly? Subconscious training soldiers for defense? No one has a totem that functions besides Cobb. Running away from bullets of trained killers?

But the kicker is the idea that our justice system is both corrupt and also efficient to the point that one call from one Japanese business man can erase an indictment and federal search in a matter of MINUTES! That is the thing that makes me think Cobb is dreaming the whole story.

Maybe his wife is alive and this is all a nightmare. Maybe he is in jail and dreaming while on death row. Whatever his situation, this whole movie is a dream in my opinion. With all the characters from the dark knight rises, except Bruce Wayne who Cobb inserts himself as.

The “it was all a dream” argument for certain mind-bending movies can be an uninspired one, although Inception makes it too easy. And in this case I rather like this theory. It’s not one that I haven’t heard before but the points made are solid.

If there’s any merit to this, I would go further and come up with a Twilight Zone-esque theory. Let’s say, what if Cobb was simply a part of somebody else’s dream? (Could be one of the characters seen in the movie or an unseen character.) That’s right, he himself wasn’t even real. 😮🧐
